Mobile Tech, Inc., a leading innovator of device display technologies for consumer electronics, has sued InVue Security Products Inc. for patent infringement and unfair competition. Multiple matters have been consolidated and are proceeding in the United States District Court for the Western District of North Carolina.

The lawsuit alleges InVue Security Products committed acts of patent infringement with respect to U.S. Patent Nos. 9,786,140 (“the ’140 Patent”) and 10,026,281 (“the ’281 Patent”). Specifically, the lawsuit identifies eight potential InVue product lines: the POD Series 1060, the POD Series 1560, the POD Series 960, the POD Series 1050, the OnePOD One40, the OnePOD One55, the OnePOD One60, and the OnePOD One65. The lawsuit also identifies an online video published by InVue Security Products that allegedly shows false information regarding the nature and quality of Mobile Tech. Inc.’s Freedom Micro product, and additionally asserts trademark infringement.

InVue Security Products Inc. filed petitions with the Patent Trial and Appeal Board at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, challenging the validity of the ’140 and ’281 Patents. The Patent Trial and Appeal Board rejected all three challenges to MTI’s patents:
