CLIENT
The client is a major national retailer who had just 6 weeks to execute a four-category transition across 1,475 stores.
Challenge
Loss of parts was a significant concern, given both the dollar value of the devices and the impact of the critical department reset. Normally each department/category would send multiple packages into the stores, adding to the complexity and potential for loss. Also, the need to kit and ship four separate projects was adding a significant cost to the project.
In addition, MTI needed to ensure the successful launch of a new category within the retailer and launch multiple new devices over a two-week transition period. This included coordinating multiple manufacturers to bring in over 22,150 devices and kitting over 48,000 parts, with 183 kit variations.
Approach
We provided the client with a suite of MTI services:
• Managed the OEM coordination of incoming devices.
• Consolidated the part/device requirements for the four departments into 183 variations based on specific store needs.
• Shipped one kit for each store to depots.
• Flawlessly executed the in-store transition with MTI logistics & program management.
Results
Successful on-time store deployment of critical transition for brand deployments and launch of a new category.
